In this extremely decadent society it seems odd that we are so obsessed with confessing. Television talk shows hold a bizarre fascination over the world at large, as day after day, numerous shows boast love triangles, family secrets, lost love and even incest.

You can find it all on Jerry Springer, Jenny Jones, Montel Williams, Sally Jesse, Oprah, and Ricki Lake. They host a veritable parade of guests all in search of their fifteen minutes of fame.

Why in a world quickly dismissing the merits of religion would this guilt media be so strong? We as a society built on the laws of the Puritans need to confess our wrongdoings, now that the ancestors of these puritans have dropped all value systems and self respect they have turned to TV the real god, for a real confession to 200,000+ viewers.

It only matters if the whole world can see, so today, when an person has a secret they’d be ashamed to tell their own mom, they can tell it on the TV and all is vindicated. it’s fast easy, and it only matters how good they look, how shocking they can be, or how stupid they are. The only thing better would be to have them then fight each other to the death, and let the lions fight the rest.
