Oh sure, he looks nice, but looks are deceiving! Just recently, good ol' David Wayne Spade was on Howard Stern bragging about the upcoming movie he wrote about former child stars. He even spoke of a scene in the film where he's playing cards with other former stars, including Todd Bridges and Barry Williams. Upon hearing this, my coffee nearly his the floor! That's funny, I thought, a couple years ago I saw a film starring female comedianne Judy Tenuta, called "Desperation Boulevard" with that EXACT SCENE in it! Except the former stars at the card table were Erin Moran, Eddie Haskell from Leave It To Beaver fame, a bitter Robin of the TV show Batman, and the late Dana Plato!

Infact, a closer listen to what Spade was saying, revealed it sounded pretty much like the EXACT SAME MOVIE! --Former child star can't cope with the real world, hilarity ensues. Now, on Spade's website, he says, and we at the TV Ministry quote, "In production this summer is "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" penned by Spade and Fred Wolf, the team that brought you the hilarious "Joe Dirt."" First, me and a million other moviegoers agree there was nothing hilarious about 'Joe Dirt', so why is Paramount Pictures behind Spade's movie 100%? Could it be that they know this particular movie premise is a winner because it was wasn't written by Spade? Instead, it possibly was written and directed by a real funnyman,Greg Glienna, produced by and starring real comedienne, Judy Tenuta, and the film was helped by her funny friend Emo Philips. Judy's movie still hasn't been picked up even though, we at the TVM found it truly hilarious and touching. We contacted Miss Tenuta to see if they'd bought the idea from her, but she said no one had called, and no offer was made. "He never contacted me about the idea, and my film has been out there for a long time!" Tenuta said. Is it too risky to get behind a Judy Tenuta vehicle, with no other major stars to back her up? -Michael Lerner, though a great actor is no Alyssa Milano! So, where's a filmmaker supposed to start then? How did. M. Night Sahamashit get such high ranking? Must be oil money. Are the studios afraid to touch it just because Dana Plato is in it, and it was released just after her death? (In fact, it would have been her big comeback movie, but that's another story altogether.) Rather than having to reshoot the Dana Plato scenes they just wanted it shelved, so Hollywood doesn't have to think about all of the young casualites Hollywood has created? Whatever the reason, it would seem they just stole the idea and handed it over to one of thier contract comedians. Certainly, no David Spade movie will be as funny or interesting as 'Desperation Blvd.' but that still doesn't make it right. Well, we're calling you out on this Paramount Pictures & David Spade! If I am right, give the lady the credit she deserves, cough up some cash, or a title, or hell, just release her very excellent film. After all, she Is "Daddy's Little Angel!"
